Christchurch Forest of Dean was the first parish Church in the historic Royal Forest and has been a centre of worship and prayer for over 200 years.
St Mary the Virgin is a Grade 1 listed Norman church, dating from 1100, standing in an oval churchyard of Saxon origins.
Both churches offer regular worship and pastoral care for the whole community and welcome visitors at any time as both churches are open every day.
We have a great mix of service types and worship across our parishes. As well as holding more traditional services, we also hold informal Cafe and Messy Church services. All are welcome at our services and at any time for prayer or pastoral support.
We have good relationships with other Christian congregations in and around the local area and form part of the "Churches Together in Coleford". As Anglicans, both our parishes lie within the Forest South Deanery in the Diocese of Gloucester, which is part of the wider Church of England. Our national church forms one of the many provinces in the global Anglican Communion, which stretches over 165 countries worldwide.
