Holy Communion and baptism. 26th February

Sunday 5th Feb. Cafe style church. Skip the first few minutes to get sound. Sound also disappears briefly after the second hymn.

Once again sound has defeted us. This is the first part of our service. It begins with sound then the sound comes and goes and unfortunately stops before we hear Chris being liscensed. The second part sounded as though it was recorded under water so it's not worth posting here.

Morning worship and Logan's baptism.

Our Holy Communion service for 8th January. A slight issue with the hymn volume. There's always something!

Christchurch  Community Carol Service 2022

Our Holy Communion service; including two minutes of silent reflection for our late Queen.
As the sound was missing for the first 20 minutes or so: This is what Maggie Fisher had to say to sum up our four weeks of Summer Praise: Spirit of Community
The last of our Summer Praise services encompasses the Spirit in Community.
If we are to fulfil the ministry of Christ offered to us as members of the Body of Christ then we must grasp, by means of the Holy Spirit within us, to take the gospel ministry out into the Communities in which we find ourselves.
Imagine what it would it would be like if there had never been a Pentecost. The disciples would have remained hidden away behind locked doors, forever afraid that the authorities would come after them until the day they died. Future disciples might have taken their place behind locked doors, as members of a hidden sect .. that is assuming there could have been subsequent disciples to take up the mantle. The message of the teaching and life of Jesus Christ would not have gone anywhere. It would have been a passing fad. All because of fear, a very real fear.
The only thing to propel the disciples out into the world was something dramatic. That came in the form of a raging wind and tongues of fire, an experience so real that it could not be denied or diminished in the retelling. Something so dramatic was needed to transform the disciples from gibbering wrecks to towers of strength, courage and determination. An experience is one thing, even if it is a moment we later come to describe as a conversion. But in itself, this is not enough to sustain the Christian movement as it started to spread and grow.
The disciples were completely lost without Jesus, oblivious of his promises. The Spirit freed them, providing direction, drive and determination to meet the world head on. The wind image reminds us of the wind that moved over the water in creation, giving life. The Spirit is life-giving, providing the confidence to believe and participate in Christ’s ministry.
In conclusion, like the disciples, we have ceased to be locked away in our Church community where we are comfortable and released by the Power of the Holy Spirit to go out into the world and by the Holy Spirit living in each one of us, be able to take every opportunity to give a reason for the hope that is in us. This is the responsibility that God has given to us, as His disciples now, and what He requires of each of us each day.
Sunday 17th July. We had a lot of technical issues this week. The sound is poor for the first few minutes. You will see that the video begins just after Jeff from St Mary's came to present Judith Brickwood with a leaving card - and thanking her for all she has done for us - most especially with her hard work in producing the Benefice magazine. Sound eventually improves and then videos refuse to give us any sound - having tested it all before the service began, so Tony has had to step in with reflections and prayers. We hope you still find today's video meaningful.
The 'technician' has done it again.  Sound is missing at the start and unfortunately Linda's reflection is very quiet. So sorry to spoil a beautiful service.
The quality may not be as good as it should be and I'm afraid a bit of human error crept in. It does get better after a few minutes - and it's worth waiting for Tony's sermon.

We had to swap computers this week so not as many camera shots but the service is lovely. Thanks to Maggie for leading and Keith Wallis for preaching.

Our Uplifting Candlemass Service. If there is echo at the start, we apologise. Settings were changed after about 15 minutes into the video.

We are so sorry, but the sound disappears for a large chunck of the service for Sunday 16th. It comes back around 25 minutes into the video.
